On May 9, 2025, at Politecnico di Milano, Paolo Belluco from LWT3 had the pleasure of presenting at the “Compiler Technologies: A Tool for Innovation” workshop, organized by the HEAP LAB research team. His presentation focused on project CAPSARII.
Key objectives of CAPSARII include:
- Energy Efficiency: Maximizing battery life through intelligent power management and ultra-low power electronics.
- Cybersecurity: Ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability in potentially hostile environments.
- Real-Time Analytics: Delivering rapid, on-device processing of sensor data to detect anomalies and generate actionable insights.
- Wearability and Comfort: Miniaturization and ergonomic design to minimize intrusion and fatigue.
During the talk, the role of compilers in the CAPSARII project was introduced. Compilers are essential tools for translating high-level code into efficient machine instructions, with specific functions for code optimization, hardware-specific tuning, security hardening, energy-aware compilation, and runtime adaptability.
